Who would have thought

This is my great granddaughter Elaina. She died a few days ago from swallowing a battery from a game. Who would have thought that a small game battery could cause the death of this sweet angel. If you want to read what happened...here is the link.

There are no words that can express what a great tragedy this is. You have my deepest sympathies. Word needs to get out just how dangerous these batteries can be.

I am very sorry for your loss. I have e-mailed the story to my cousin who has small children. Word has to get out about the danger of those batteries but I wish it were not because of this story!

This makes me feel so sick to my stomach, as a pregnant mother of two year old, I can't pray hard enough for you and your family. I would not have thought of something so small being so deadly and never give a second thought to small toys that contain them. I will without a doubt de-battery what's at my daughter's level. May the story of this child touch and alter many! What an angel. I cannot imagine what you are feeling.

Anett...I am just heartsick about this. I am adding your family to my prayers that you may all find some kind of peace, hard as it is, and will someday only remember the happy memories you made with this little angel during her all-too-brief time with you.

I just saw the article about Elaina and my heart goes out to you and all your family. I would never have thought swallowing batteries had such additional dangers, although it's reasonable when thinking about it. My prayers are with you and yours.
